There’s always something going on at Grace and many different ways you can get involved and serve. Below are just a few of the many ministries at Grace focusing on the needs of the whole family and our local communities.
God’s presence is the goal. That said, while worship is very much about music, and involves music, it is not all about music. Corporate worship is the culmination of a personal life steeped in worship. Music is a powerful tool that engages both the heart and mind in a way that allows us to fully express our wholehearted response to His love. That is why we have made praise & worship such an integral part of every gathering at Grace.
Our desire is to see a generation of youth come to know God at an early age. Our children's ministries are uniquely designed with each age group in mind. In SuperChurch, children gather separately to experience age-appropriate activities, teachings, fellowship and fun where the Bible is taught in creative and relevant ways by dedicated and faithful leaders. In Noah's ark nursery, faithful volunteers are doing far more than babysitting. They understand their role is to begin to minister to those at the youngest of ages.
Our Jr. & Sr. High ministries are uniquely designed with each age group in mind. At both Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services, youth gather separately to experience age-appropriate activities, teachings, fellowship and fun where the Bible is taught in creative ways by dedicated and faithful leaders. One Friday evening each months is IGNITE, a youth gathering for ages 12-18 for worship, food & fun.
Grace Community Church has provided an emergency food pantry to the Streator, IL area since 1997. The Portions ministry is made up of volunteer members from Grace, and is under the direction of Daryl and Jane McFadden. Pantry hours are Wednesdays from 9-11 am. The food provided is a combination of government commodities along with food purchased by Grace Community Church.
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that helps anyone overcome life’s hurts, hang-ups, and habits, including addictions and undesirable behaviors. CR meets every Monday night beginning with dinner at 6:00pm and meeting at 7:00pm at Grace. Everyone is welcome. The LANDING is Celebrate Recovery’s group for youth (ages 12-18) who may struggle with life’s hurts, hang-ups, and habits. They meet separately from the adults every Monday night.
“Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” – Romans 15:7 The worship experience at Grace begins at the door. Our greeters have the important ministry role of making sure that every person who enters Grace feels welcome, comfortable and at home. Once inside our welcome Home station is there both to welcome attendees, direct newcomers, and provide a special gift to all who are joining us for the first time.
